How Many CFU in Probiotics Is Enough?
How many CFU in probiotics you need has no single answer, because effects are strain-specific and none of the sources we cite names a best number. A useful label shows a CFU count per strain at end of shelf life. FemiCore prints a 50 mg probiotic blend and no CFU, so its live dose is unknown.

The number
How many CFU should a probiotic contain?
A probiotic should contain the CFU count that was used in the research on its own strain. There is no universal target, because one strain at a modest count can be studied, while another at a huge count may have no study at all.
NIH says recommendations need to be strain-specific and that effects of one probiotic do not carry over to another (NIH ODS, Probiotics) (NCCIH, Probiotics). Its fact sheet does not cover urinary or vaginal health, and it gives no number to aim for.
So a bigger count is not a better one by default. Match the strain and the count to the trial, then see whether the label states that count through the end of shelf life.

How do you judge a CFU count on a label?
Judge a CFU count with four questions. The table shows each question and the answer for the FemiCore bottle.
| Check | Good sign | FemiCore label |
|---|---|---|
| Is the strain named? | Genus, species and code | Yes, all five |
| Is a count printed? | CFU per serving | Not printed |
| When was it counted? | At end of shelf life | Not printed |
| Does it match a trial? | Same strain and similar count | Cannot be checked |
Marketing often quotes the biggest count a lab saw on filling day. A figure that is silent on timing deserves caution.
Also watch the unit. A count per capsule and a count per bottle are far apart, and a bottle total can look large while one daily dose holds a small share. Ask which one the number describes before you compare two products.
The research
What CFU did the one LCr86 trial use?
The only trial we found for a FemiCore strain gave 10 billion CFU a day of LCr86 by mouth. It ran 8 weeks in 80 women, against a placebo, with a vaginal score as its outcome. No results were posted (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT06830122, LCr86).
That figure belongs to one strain at a stated dose. It cannot be applied to the other four strains. It also cannot be matched to a capsule that prints only a weight.
No published trial was found for LA88, N13, LG08 or LC16.

What can be said about the CFU in FemiCore?
Nothing exact can be said about the CFU in FemiCore, because none is printed. The label gives a Probiotic Blend of 50 mg for five strains, listed from most to least by weight (21 CFR 101.36, supplement labeling).
That order caps each strain. The first is at most 50 mg, the second 25, the third about 17, the fourth 12.5 and the fifth 10. These are ceilings and say nothing about live cells.
Those bars show weight only. If you want a count, ask the seller for a lab report per lot. None is published today.
Before ordering
Is an unstated CFU a reason not to buy?
It is a reason to buy cautiously. An unstated CFU does not mean the cells are dead, only that the dose is unconfirmed. Weigh that against the price and your goals.
Probiotic risks are higher in people with severe illness or weak immunity (NCCIH, Probiotics). If that is you, speak to your clinician first and keep taking any prescribed medicine.
The sales page shows $79 a bottle on two, $69 on three and $49 on six. Two bottles cover the 60-day guarantee window shown on the badges. Read the guarantee page first.

FAQ
CFU count questions, answered
Do more billions mean a stronger probiotic?
Not by themselves. Strength depends on the strain and on whether the cells are alive at expiry. A smaller count with a studied strain can beat a larger count with none.
Is 1 billion CFU too low?
No source we cite sets a minimum. Whether it is enough depends on the strain and the study behind it, so check the research for that exact strain.
Why do labels give a range of CFU?
Cell counts vary by batch and fall with age. A range or an expiry-date count is more honest than one peak figure, since it reflects what you may swallow.
Can a probiotic have too many CFU?
No source we cite sets an upper limit for healthy adults. Stomach upset is the usual complaint, and risk is higher with weak immunity or serious illness, so check with a clinician (NIH ODS, Probiotics).
Does FemiCore list CFU anywhere on the sales page?
Not in the text we read. The label and sales graphics show a weight and strain names. Ask the order desk for a per-lot CFU report in writing.
